Brandy is not only for “Sip for the Fire” Drink Brandy Like A Pro. However, it is well acknowledged in the cocktail world as well. As for some, consuming it straight becomes a little tedious or heavy, yet they love the spirit. But here are the top Brandy Cocktails you should know.
How To Make Brandy Cocktails

The Sidecar
Ingredients and method – In a cocktail shaker, if you don’t have a shaker, you could use a bottle with a wider mouth for the ice to fit in 1. Add 15ml of fresh lime juice, 15ml of sugar syrup, 15ml of Grand Marnier, and 45ml of Cognac or Brandy. 2. Add lots of ice and shake it well. 3. Strain into a coupe glass straight up.
Alternative – If you do not have something like a Grand Marnier, you can add 15ml of orange juice and increase the brandy to 60ml.
Metropolitan
Ingredients and method – This is simple! 1. 30ml of Cognac or Brandy and 30ml of sweet vermouth over ice in a beaker or a steel can, or a pouring glass with lots of ice. 2. I stir this drink as I do not want to break down too much by shaking the drink. Give it a good stir with lots of ice, and pour it straight up into a pre-chilled glass.

Brandy Alexander
Ingredients and method – For the cream lovers, I’ve got a game changer: something to enjoy after your meal. 1. 30ml of Cognac or Brandy, 30ml of Creme de Cacao (chocolate liqueur), and 30ml of fresh cream into a shaker. 2. Add lots of ice and shake it well. 3. strain into a nice stem coupe glass straight up, and finally dust or grate some nutmeg powder and wallah!!!
TIP- what if we do not have the chocolate liqueur, use 15ml of chocolate syrup and increase the quantity of brandy to 60 ml.
-” But what are these alternatives all about, Melroy?” I always get these questions a lot. I will be explaining in detail in my upcoming topics, which are near, where I will take you guys into a deeper understanding of liqueurs. So you know what’s Next, Congratulations!!
Champagne Cocktail
Ingredients and method – This is an easy cocktail that is very simple to construct 1. Add a sugar cube to a champagne glass, and gently break it down. 2. Add a dash (a few drops) of Angostura bitters, and add 45ml of Cognac or Brandy. 3. Give it a good stir and top up with Champagne, and there you go, you’re already a professional bartender.

Brandy Smash
Ingredients and method – If those seem a bit of a task and carrying the weight of the world, try the Brandy smash out. 1. In a rocks glass, add a sugar cube, 6-7 mint leaves, and 4 lime wedges. 2. Muddle gently and pour in 60 ml of Cognac or Brandy. 3. Add in a lot of crushed ice (crushed ice is what I prefer). Give it a nice stir, and there you have it!
(Another way to construct this is by adding all ingredients in a shaker, giving a nice mix, and straining into a rocks glass with crushed ice)
Hot Toddy
Ingredients and method – Well it’s time for the Doctor, haha.. this is gonna be fun, let’s cook.. 1. we need to light up the gas for this one, with some water In the vessel, add some cinnamon, star anise, cardamom and a table spoon of honey (grated ginger as an option) and let it brew. 2. Might be too hot, I mean it is, so carefully take it off the flame and add to the glass, or a cup if you don’t trust your glass, add 15ml lime juice, add 60 ml of brandy, and sip it hot, Magic.. your cold is forgotten.

Brandy Eggnog
Ingredients and method – A lot of them ask me this: how do we just have raw egg in a drink? Dude, trust me, it’s amazing! A drink savoured mostly during Christmas and the season calls for it, But Okay.. be careful with this one and do as I say. 1. In a shaker, add 45ml of milk, 15 ml of sugar syrup, 1 whole egg, and 60 ml of Brandy. 2. Once all these things are in the shaker, DRY SHAKE ( dry shake means mixing a cocktail without the ice) for some time. 3. Once nicely mixed, put it in ice and shake it vigorously, and pour it over in a rocks glass and dust some nutmeg or cinnamon powder on top. I know that is a lot of work, but it should pay off with a good return on the experience. NOT FOR ALL!!
Inside Out
Ingredients and method – This is my take on the brandy cocktail, and it’s also my personal favourite. I call for 45 ml of brandy, 15 ml of port wine, and 7.5 ml of Elderflower syrup, all shaken well with ice. Pour it over ice and top it off with lemon-lime soda.
It is an absolute divine with those floral notes that make you crave more
