Like most of the Liquors, Liqueur can be enjoyed in several ways. I prefer my liqueur to be enjoyed over ice, cherishing each of its art in a craft. As different liqueurs are used in cocktails to enhance flavors, many also use them to blend well in coffee, baking, and making sauces. However, I have mentioned a few ways to drink liqueur as per one’s preference. know more about the Different types of Liqueurs.

Ways To Drink Liqueur
- On The Rocks – unlike Liquor, Liqueurs have sugar, and having them on the rocks will gently mellow down the flavors. Making it so refreshing.
- Digestif/After-meal – There are liqueurs specially made moreover to be enjoyed after a meal as a digestif.
- Neat or straight up—some liqueurs are enjoyed neat, meanwhile some enjoy sipping at room temperature, or slightly chilled.
- Cocktails – Liqueurs are the most essential ingredient in classic and modern cocktails. They can be the “hero” of the Drink by not only contributing complexity but also a hint of gentle sweetness.
- Coffee – Coffee liqueur, cream liqueur, or hazelnut Liqueur can add delight to your coffee resulting in intensifying and glorifying the coffee.
- Bakes – Liqueurs can enhance the flavor of cakes, pies, puddings, and in fact make sauces too. A splash of Baileys, cherry liqueur, coffee liqueur, or hazelnut liqueur, etc, in a desired flavoured cake will elevate its essence.
- Over ice-creams – This is one of my personal favourites, specifically coffee liqueur or a chocolate liqueur over vanilla ice cream. Similarly, orange liqueur and coffee liqueur over chocolate ice cream. Man! The blend, worth a try.
What Liqueurs To Have After Dinner?

For Digestif – I would recommend having something herbal liqueurs like Jägermeister and Campari. Anise-based liqueurs like Sambuca, amaro, ouzo, and pastis. These are supposed to have neat (no ice), slowly after dessert.
On the Rocks – Liqueurs best enjoyed on the Rocks –
- Amaretto (Almond liqueur)
- Baileys Irish cream (Irish cream liqueur)
- Kahlúa (coffee liqueur)
- Frangelico (Hazelnut)
- Drambuie (honey liqueur)
- Grand Marnier or Cointreau (Orange Liqueurs)
